Final Week at The Cottage

It’s the final week for The Cottage! FREE items remain! We will be open TU and TH 1-4pm.

It has been an amazing month preparing to close the store. We are ever blessed by the continued presence of our homeschooling community. “Thank you” just doesn’t seem to be an adequate response for all we have received.

We will be selling the tables and chairs, an old computer, desk, sofas, computer table, and vhs and television from the kid room. There are also other items that are to be sold (garage sale/donation style) from our shed. All proceeds will go to benefit Carla and her family. Come by and make us an offer – you won’t be refused!

The website will be maintained with the calendar of events (www.schoolcottage.com).

You may continue to contact us: [email protected]

Store Closing

We, Kelda and Carla, announce the closing of the Home School Cottage Broussard. It has been our honor and privilege to serve our homeschool community these past five years. What started as a labor of love has fed our passion and grown our homeschooling community and relationships with new-found friends and those of whom we’ve grown to love as family.

Although we have never profited financially from this business, The Cottage has been able to cover all of its expenses. Due to circumstances beyond our control, our sales have been steadily decreasing for the past six months. With the increased numbers of families choosing online, cooperative schooling and the opening of Mardel’s, we are unable to compete in the current market.

Amid the time challenges of parenting and schooling our children, we have appreciated everyone’s support and encouragement. During Carla’s cancer diagnosis and chemo and radiation, we personally received the strength and love from this community.

We will maintain the website and post updates for the community and links to groups and activity information. Kelda will continue to host classes and workshops, standardized testing, curriculum counseling, consultations, and tutoring will also continue to be available. Homeschooling 101 workshops will also be offered regularly.

January 24th-February 2nd: 50% off all consignments; 75% off all new toys and art supplies; 25% off all new inventory. Come in and stock up at unbelievable prices!

February 6th-9th, All remaining inventory will be sorted by vendor for pickup.

February 14th-16th and 21st-23rd, Remaining items will be placed in FREE area. The property is being sold, so we need to be completely out of the space by the end of February.

March: Accounts will be settled and checks to consignors mailed.

Thank you,

Kelda and Carla

The Teen Pact State Class is coming up very soon May 2nd – May 6th.  This is a wonderful way to teach “hands on” Government to teens from ages 13 – 18.  They will have an action packed week at the State Capital and form new friendships with other homeschoolers from around the state.  It is really an opportunity you should not miss and is well worth any sacrifice you may have to make.  It has made a huge impact on my teens lives.  There is also a one day class that is available for ages 8 – 12.  This is really entertaining for the younger ones and my 9 year old son is looking forward to attending again, this year.  Please check out the website, www.teenpact.com, under “State Class”, pray about it, and make plans to attend!
Hope to see you there.
